Our transition to digital nomads officially begins today.
Up early. Coffee. Breakfast — our last bagel sandwich from Spielman’s 🙁 Dump run to toss our mattress and a few remaining unnecessary possessions. Quick clean of the condo and say farewell to Don and The Fontaine in Portland. Don, our building manager, just celebrated his 90th birthday. Feeling nostalgic already. I hope we don’t regret this decision to become digital nomads, but no looking back now. Load up the car with our clothes. Get the bikes from the garage and head out to our new home — the Wolf Pup! We put some frozen water bottles in the fridge and freezer — it wasn’t completely cold but good enough to get us to Copalis Beach. Hook up the camper and we are off. Lunch in Centralia — we were hoping to go to our favorite Chinese place, Panda Inn. But they are closed one day a week and you guessed it — Tuesday. Ha! But the Mexican place across the street wasn’t bad. We shared a burrito combo and it was so big the two of us couldn’t even finish it. Back on the road and after 3.5 hours we pull up to Driftwood RV Park in Copalis Beach WA. A nice, quiet little park that will be our home for the summer. Our site isn’t anything to brag about. They have some great sites here but they are for the daily/weekly visitors. The monthly/full-timer’s get tossed in the not-so-premium sites. But we kind of expected that and it isn’t that bad. We have some trees that provide afternoon shade. Overall the park is nice. New bath house with excellent bathrooms and showers. A hiking trail along the river. A bench that overlooks the river and has great views of the sunset — a great place for an evening drink.
Life really slows down here. Can’t wait to explore this part of beautiful Washington State.
